Packing Mistakes For the Beach

Leo

When I arrived at the sea, I opened my suitcase and realised my swimming costume wasn’t there! I had to visit a tourist shop by the beach. It cost so much cash, but I really wanted to go in the water. At least I had packed my sun cream, so I didn’t get red and sore like I normally do. I brought my favourite large towel from home, too. Unfortunately, my mobile phone battery died, so I couldn’t get any images of the beautiful coast.

Maya

I left my dark glasses on my bedroom desk at home. The light at the beach was really strong, and it hurt my eyes. My mother gave me her large summer hat to put on my head, which helped a lot. I tried to look for a place to buy new glasses, but there weren’t any shops around our small hotel. Luckily, we had a couple of wet and cloudy afternoons, so I didn’t need them every day. I saved my pocket money because I didn’t buy anything!

Sam

I love swimming, so I was angry when I saw that I didn’t have my big beach towel! My sister refused to share hers with me. I had to take the little white cloth from our hotel shower to dry my body after swimming. It wasn’t very warm! The sky was perfectly clear for the whole week, so we stayed on the sand until late. I am very happy that I didn’t forget my new camera. I got some amazing shots of the ocean to show my friends.

Choosing the Perfect Backpack

Liam

When I go camping, the weather can change quickly. That is why I always check that rain cannot get inside my bag to ruin my clothes. I also prefer bags in bright yellow or red because you can spot them quickly if you leave them under a tree. Good bags are usually quite expensive, so I save up to get a great one. I don’t worry if the bag itself is a bit heavy, because I have strong shoulders and don’t mind carrying a lot.

Emma

I never buy my own camping gear. Instead, I just ask my older sister to let me take hers for the weekend. It is a bit too large and sometimes makes my shoulders ache on long walks, but I love it. It has so many separate spaces inside and on the outside, which is perfect for organizing my keys, phone, and snacks. The only bad thing is that water easily goes through the material, so I hope for sunny days!

Noah

As a student, I cannot buy costly things. Finding a bag with the lowest price is the most important thing for me. Before I buy it, I put it on my back in the store to be certain it is comfortable to wear for hours. I also make sure it feels completely light when there is nothing inside it. I usually pick dark colors like black or brown. I don’t care about having lots of separate places for my things, because I just throw everything into the main part.

Tips for Packing Light

Sam

I love travelling, but I hate carrying heavy things. Last year, I bought a tiny backpack. Because it cannot hold much, I must think carefully about what to put inside. I read a list of tips online. Now, I never bring heavy items like thick sweaters. I prefer bright colours, but I only pack thin clothes. I also never take shampoo or shower gel from home. I just get them from a shop when I arrive. My shoes are always clean, so I pack them next to my shirts.

Maya

My bag is quite big, but I still like to pack light. I only bring a few items of clothing. Everything I take is black, white, or grey. This means they go together perfectly and I don’t need many different outfits. I always bring small bottles of shampoo with me, so I don’t have to go shopping. To save space, my husband takes my heavy jackets and puts them in his suitcase. Also, I wash my T-shirts and socks in the hotel bathroom, so I don’t have to carry too many.

Leo

My brother’s bag is always heavy because he takes dirty clothes home and never plans. I am different. I always use a pen and paper to plan exactly what to take before I open my suitcase. This stops me from bringing things I won’t wear. My clothes are in many different colours. When I go to cold places, I never pack my winter coat or big boots. I just put them on my body for the flight! It can get a bit hot on the plane, but my suitcase is always very light.
