Coding and Building AI

Max

I started writing code last year. I wanted to make a smart tool that checks my maths and science answers before I give them to my teacher. It is really useful! Last month, I showed it at a town technology festival and I won a brilliant new laptop as a prize. My dad bought me my first computer, but I didn’t learn to program from him. I just watched online videos. I usually work alone, but maybe one day I will build an app with my classmates.

Ruby

Making simple AI applications is an amazing hobby. I have two friends who also love computers, and we always share our ideas and build things together. It is much more fun than doing it by yourself. We entered a contest once, but another group got first place. Right now, everything we make is free to use. However, when I am older, I want people to pay for my software so it can become my real job. I spend a lot of time checking my work to make sure it is perfect.

Sam

I mostly write code for video games so I can enjoy them on the weekends. I don’t use AI to do my school reading or writing because I prefer doing that myself! My older sister studies IT at university, and she showed me the best ways to program when I first started. I love my hobby, but understanding the computer language isn’t simple. Sometimes I spend hours trying to fix a small problem, which makes me feel really frustrated. Still, it is a great feeling when my game finally works!

Making Digital Art on Studio Screens

Liam

I love making digital art. A few months ago, I brought home a new studio monitor. I used the cash from my weekend café job because I really wanted to buy it myself. It isn’t a massive screen, but the picture is amazing. When I paint, the yellows and reds look exactly like they do in everyday life! I use my computer to draw posters for student clubs and teachers at my college. I never share my monitor with anyone else in my family because I need it every afternoon.

Maya

I am always drawing pictures on my computer. I used to get headaches from my old, cheap monitor. Now, I have a fantastic new studio display. I can sit and create art for hours, and my eyes feel completely fine! I didn’t pay for it, though. My parents gave it to me when I turned fifteen. My sister always wants to use it for her homework, but I tell her to use her own laptop. This screen is just for my art, not for school projects!

Ethan

My dad loves computers, so he recently bought a high-quality studio display for our house. He lets me use it for my digital drawing. It is so wide that it takes up my entire desk! Because it is in the living room, my older brother also works on it when he plays PC games. I mostly draw funny cartoons just for myself, not for my classes. The picture is very clear, but I don’t really care about having perfect colours like some other artists do.

Making Videos for Our Channels

Jamie

I love making videos about my cooking. I never film in the garden; I always stand in my kitchen. Because I do everything by myself, I don’t ask my parents or siblings to hold the camera. When I finish baking, I sit at my big computer to cut out the bad parts. This job usually takes me three or four hours! I also like to put some nice pop tunes in the background because it makes my dishes look more fun.

Sam

I create sports content for my channel. I do all my recording at the local park or on the sports field. Before I hit record, I always take a piece of paper and make notes about my topic so I don’t forget my lines. I prefer to keep my videos quiet, so you will only hear me speaking, with no extra singing or sounds. I also spend my evenings checking out famous sports vloggers on the internet to see what exciting things I can do next. It really helps me!

Robin

Making funny videos is my favorite hobby. I don’t like writing down my thoughts first; I just look at the lens and start talking! Holding the device makes my arm tired, so my older brother usually stands and records me. He is very good at keeping it still. When we are done, I don’t use my laptop. I have a great little app on my mobile that lets me join all the clips together and make them look perfect. It is very fast and easy to do!
