Favorite Video Editing Software

Leo

I use a program called VideoMaker. It wasn’t cheap, but I saved my pocket money to get it. My uncle is a professional filmmaker, but I taught myself how to use it by watching online tutorials! I mostly use the program to help me with my studies. For example, I recently made a short film for my history class. When I finish a project, I always share my clips online so my friends can leave comments. It works perfectly on my old laptop, too.

Sam

The best thing about my editing software is that it is completely free to download. I don’t have a job yet, so that is perfect for me! It is a great program, but there is one big problem. If your PC is a few years old, the software will be very slow and might stop working completely. Luckily, my parents bought me a fast computer for my birthday. Next year, I want to start making longer movies, so I am saving up to buy a professional program instead.

Maya

I use an editing program that my older brother bought. At first, it looked really difficult, but he sat with me and showed me exactly what to do. Now I am quite good at it! My favorite part is adding funny filters, text, and stickers to my clips. There are so many great tools to make everything look amazing. I know some kids put their movies on the internet, but I prefer to just show them to my family on our television.

Summer Activities

Leo

When the weather gets really hot, I always go to the activity centre by the river. You don’t have to pay to get in, which is great because I don’t have much money. I spend all day doing water sports with my friends. We have to put on safety helmets and life jackets before we start. It is hard work, but we take lots of snacks to eat. My dad sometimes watches us, but I prefer doing it with my mates.

Maya

I love the summer holidays, but I don’t enjoy doing sports to keep healthy when it is 35 degrees outside! Instead, I stay inside where it is cool. My favorite thing to do is prepare sweet dishes in the kitchen. My grandmother comes over and shows me how to bake different cakes and biscuits. It is wonderful. Sometimes I try to follow recipes by myself, but it is much more fun when we do it together and share the treats with our neighbors.

Sam

During a very hot week, the swimming pool is always full of people, so I never go there. I buy a ticket for the indoor ice-skating rink instead. It is freezing inside! I really enjoy skating without anyone else around, so I always go early in the morning before it gets busy. Moving around on the ice is a fantastic way to keep my body strong. I don’t need to buy expensive skating boots because I just borrow them from the rink.

A Spring Rainbow

Alice

I was walking in the park with my younger brother when the rain started. We didn’t have an umbrella, but we didn’t mind because the temperature was actually quite high for spring. After about ten minutes, the rain stopped and a huge rainbow appeared in the sky. I have seen many rainbows before, but the reds and purples in this one were so deep and clear! I really wanted to use my camera to show my friends, but unfortunately, I left it at home.

Ben

I was riding my bike through the forest when the short shower began. I quickly stopped under a large tree to stay dry. As soon as the rain finished, the sun came out and a beautiful rainbow crossed the sky. I was just by myself, not with my parents, so I got my smartphone out and saved the moment to show them later. The rainbow was amazing, and it didn’t leave fast at all. It stayed in the sky for nearly half an hour!

Clara

I usually play tennis in the afternoon, but I stayed inside my house today because of the dark clouds. The wind outside looked quite cold. When the rain stopped, I was looking out of my bedroom window and saw a fantastic rainbow over the city. It was so pretty, but sadly, it was gone in just a few minutes. By the time I called my sister to come and look at it, there was nothing left to see in the sky.
