Traditional Craft Store

Elena

I visited this huge craft shop on Tuesday. I hoped to stay all afternoon, but my tour group had to catch a bus after only an hour, so I had to hurry! I saw lots of painted bowls on the first floor, but I actually picked up some nice plates for my parents. Everything was surprisingly cheap, which was great. Also, the assistants were so polite and showed me exactly where the things I wanted were. I really wish I could go back and see the rest of the store!

Marco

This department store is perfect if you want to buy traditional things. It’s right next to the main train station, so we saw it immediately without getting lost. The people working there were running around, so I didn’t ask them any questions. We spent three hours inside! My favourite part was looking at the men and women painting the bowls. It was amazing to see how they do it. Before we left, we went all the way up the stairs to the roof to drink some coffee and look at the city.

Aisha

I really wanted to buy some handmade crafts here. I used a map on my phone, but I still walked the wrong way for twenty minutes before I arrived! It is an enormous place, but I didn’t even leave the ground level because there was so much to look at. I found a beautiful wooden toy for my little nephew. I loved the silver jewellery too, but I didn’t have enough cash for those, as the prices were very high. Maybe next time I will save up more before I go.

Returning clothes to the boutique

Chloe

I went to the boutique on Saturday to return a green dress. My aunt came with me, which was fun. The dress was actually the perfect length, but I didn’t like the color. There were so many customers inside that it was difficult to walk around! I thought the shop assistants were very kind. They didn’t have another color, so they just handed me the amount it cost in notes and coins. I didn’t get any other clothes that day.

Ryan

I took a sweater back to the boutique yesterday. I bought it for myself, so it wasn’t a birthday surprise from anyone. The store was quite empty. When I asked the women behind the desk to help me, they didn’t smile or say please. They just looked annoyed. I wanted them to give me my money back, but they said no. Instead, they let me choose a different piece of clothing. I picked a cool black jacket and left.

Maya

For my birthday, my best friend bought me a really beautiful skirt from the boutique in town. It was exactly what I wanted, but it was too big for me. I had to go to the city center by myself to change it. The man working there was extremely helpful. I just wanted a smaller one, so I didn’t look around the store for new things. Luckily, they had the right one, so I didn’t need to ask for money.

The Beautiful Town Square

Mario

I love spending my mornings in the town square. I usually don’t go there later in the day because it gets too crowded. My favorite thing to do is find a quiet spot near the biggest pool of water and finish my novel. Hearing the drops fall is so relaxing! I didn’t eat at the outdoor cafes because I brought a cheap snack from home instead. There were some guys standing nearby with guitars, but I didn’t pay attention to them.

Clara

I walked around the square at night, when all the lights were shining. The fountains looked beautiful, but it was too busy to hear anything! I had dinner with my cousin at one of the outdoor restaurants. The pizza was delicious, but you have to spend a lot of money to sit at those tables! They are certainly not cheap. I forgot my phone, so I didn’t get any pictures of the beautiful churches, unfortunately.

Hugo

The square is an amazing place. I spent an hour walking around and got some great shots of the churches from hundreds of years ago with my mobile. I didn’t bring anything to read, so I just watched the water instead. I was by myself, so I just ate a slice of cake alone at a small cafe. While I was drinking my coffee, a fantastic band started playing guitars and singing nearby. It was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy their songs.
