A Day Without a Screen
Thirteen-year-old Sophie usually takes her mobile phone everywhere. Yesterday morning, she woke up late for school. She quickly ate her breakfast and ran out of the door. Unfortunately, she left her smartphone lying on her bed.
During her first lesson, Sophie looked in her bag. Her phone wasn’t there! At first, she felt extremely anxious. She usually uses it to check the time or read messages from her friends. She believed her day was going to be completely terrible without it.
At lunchtime, Sophie didn’t know what to do. Usually, she sits alone in the school canteen and watches funny videos on her screen. Because she couldn’t do that, she started talking to her classmates. They told some great jokes and laughed a lot. Sophie was surprised because she actually had a fantastic time.
When school finished, Sophie walked home. She couldn’t listen to her favourite music on her journey. Instead, she listened to the birds in the trees and looked at the beautiful sky.
