Food Bloggers: A Love for Fiery Heat

Mark

I write a blog about spicy fried chicken. I love using lots of red chili powder to make it really hot! Some people think buying all the different spices is expensive, and they are right, it isn’t cheap. But I love cooking it at home. My grandfather taught me his secret recipe when I was young. The chicken is always so fiery that my mouth burns! Because of this, I always need a glass of iced tea or milk next to my plate. I usually make it for lunch on Sundays when I have plenty of free time.

Sarah

My food blog is all about Mexican food, especially spicy tacos. You don’t need much money to prepare them, so I save plenty of cash. I didn’t learn to make them from my parents; I found a great video online. Instead of using dried spices, I cut up green jalapeño peppers straight from my garden. They make the tacos incredibly hot! I love inviting my classmates over to my house at the weekend so we can eat them together. We usually have them in the middle of the day, as they are too heavy for late in the day.

Leo

I love writing about spicy ramen with lots of chili flakes. It is my favourite thing to eat when it gets dark and I finish my classes. I am not very good at cooking, so I don’t make it myself. Instead, I go to a small Japanese café near my apartment. The chefs there make the hottest noodle soup in the city! I usually go there alone because my friends don’t like very hot food. Even though my mouth feels like it is on fire, I prefer drinking the hot soup rather than having juice or water with it.

Teenagers Review Asian Restaurants

Arun

I recently went to a new Thai place that is just a two-minute walk from my apartment. I ordered Som Tum, but it was far too hot for me, and I had to drink three glasses of water! Also, the loud pop songs playing inside were really annoying, so I couldn’t talk to my friend. At least the waiters brought our bowls very quickly. The meal was quite expensive, but trying the different dishes was an interesting experience.

Mei

My friends and I visited an Asian café last Saturday. We were surprised that the total bill was so low—it really didn’t cost much money at all. However, the staff took nearly forty-five minutes to bring our dinner to the table, which made us very hungry. I tried a delicious mango salad, which was sweet and fresh. The café is on the other side of the city, so we had to take a long metro ride to get there, but we loved the soft, traditional instruments playing in the background.

Tara

I had dinner at a popular Thai restaurant because my uncle told me it was the best place in town. I wanted something authentic, so I chose the famous Som Tum, a fantastic salad made with green, unripe papaya. It had a lot of chili, but I love spicy food, so it was perfect for me. The dishes cost a bit more than usual, but the quality was excellent. The service was great, and our food arrived after just five minutes.

Korean Barbecue Spots

Min

Last week, my family went to King BBQ for my brother’s fourteenth birthday. The restaurant has a wonderful area for sweets. I always enjoy restaurants with plenty of sweet items at the end, like chocolate cakes and ice cream. However, I did not like the beef steak very much. It was not soft at all so it took a long time to chew. My parents ordered some chicken too, which was much better. It was a nice, quiet evening, and we did not have to wait long.

Phong

I love Korean barbecue, so I went to Gogi House with my classmates last Saturday. I really prefer a buffet, where you can pick up whatever you want yourself from a long table. They had excellent pork, chicken, and beef. But there were far too many customers inside that night. It was so loud that it was hard to hear my friends. The food was quite expensive, so I spent all my pocket money, but everything tasted great.

Linh

My favorite restaurant is a new Korean barbecue spot near my house. I went there last night because my friend told me it was cheap. When the bill arrived, it didn’t cost as much as I thought! I tried different things, but the pork was definitely my favorite because it tasted much better than the beef or chicken. The waiters brought everything to our table, so it was very comfortable. There were only a few tables filled, so it wasn’t loud at all.
