Reviewing New Photo Filters

Ben

I love the new update because it has brilliant cartoon tools. It makes my friends laugh when I change my face to look like an animal with big ears! After I finish editing, I always send them to my parents and grandad because they think they are funny too. Some of the tools are expensive, but I don’t buy those. However, I think a few of the normal options are not very interesting, and I got tired of them fast. But mostly, it is a fun app.

Lara

There are so many wonderful new options in this app now. My favorite one turns colorful pictures into black and white. It makes everything look like it is from many years ago, which is beautiful. I know some apps make you buy special filters, but with this update, you don’t have to pay a single penny for the best styles. I look at them on my smartphone every evening. I don’t use the tools for silly faces because I prefer taking serious pictures of nature.

Toby

I downloaded the update yesterday. At first, I had trouble because it was hard to see where the new buttons are. The design is quite complicated now. But once I found them, I loved the bright modern styles. The filters look much nicer on my big tablet than on my small mobile phone. I only show my completed work to my classmates at school, and they think the colors are amazing. I hope the next update is simpler to use!

Limiting Screen Time

Mark

I was spending too much time on the internet. To stop this, I got a software program that doesn’t let me open my favourite video websites during the day. It really helps me study! Also, when I sit down with my family for dinner, I always press the power button so my mobile is completely dead. I want to talk to my parents, not look at a screen. I still keep my phone next to my bed to wake me up in the morning, but I don’t touch it.

Sarah

A few months ago, my eyes felt tired from looking at my phone. I decided to make my display black and white. Without bright reds and blues, my phone looks boring, so I don’t want to use it as much! I also began painting pictures in the evenings. Because of this new hobby, I don’t even think about the digital world. I don’t wait for a special hour to read my emails like some people do, but I definitely spend fewer hours online now.

David

I used to play games on my phone until midnight. Now, I leave my device downstairs in the kitchen when I go upstairs to sleep. This way, I get a good night’s rest! I also have a rule for my chats. I only read them twice a day: once after breakfast and once before dinner. If I break my own rules, I tell my mum to hide my phone from me for the rest of the day. It’s great having someone to make me stop!

Finding Reliable Information Online

Max

When I write an essay, I always use the internet. But searching for things you can believe usually needs hours of work! There are so many pages with mistakes. I don’t mind if a website has a few pictures or things to buy, but I really hate it when an article was written many years ago. If the date at the top is not from this year, I get angry and close it immediately. I need the newest details for my homework. I never write down where I find things, which my teacher doesn’t like!

Lily

I usually finish my internet research very quickly. When I open a page, I look at how it is designed. If my screen is suddenly covered in messages trying to sell me things, I leave that site right away! It’s difficult to know what is true online. Because of this, I always show the articles to my dad. He reads them and tells me if they are safe to use for my school writing. My brother uses university websites, but they are sometimes too difficult for me to understand.

Omar

My parents are too busy to help me with my homework, so I have to work alone. I never search on popular internet pages for my essays. Instead, I log into the digital library that our school gives us. It is full of amazing books and texts. Also, I only read information that comes from a university or a government office, because I know they are never wrong. After finding a great article, I always copy the link into my notebook so I can easily return to it later.
