Emma’s Design Dream

Sixteen-year-old Emma loves houses, but not big ones. While her friends dream of living in huge houses with gardens, Emma prefers small apartments. She wants to become an interior designer. Her biggest dream is to make tiny spaces look amazing and comfortable for people to live in.

To prepare for her future job, Emma practices in her own bedroom. It is the smallest room in her family’s apartment. She often moves her bed and desk to find the best place for them. She also uses light paint for her walls because she read in a magazine that bright colours make small rooms look much bigger.

Last month, Emma’s older sister moved into a new apartment in the city centre. The apartment was very small, and her sister was worried about where to put all her clothes. Emma offered to help. She bought some clever boxes that fit under the bed and put tall mirrors on the walls. When her sister saw it, she was amazed.

Next year, Emma is going to do a course in art and design at college. She knows that becoming a successful interior designer will take a lot of hard work and time. However, she is excited to learn new things and hopes to open her own design company one day.
