A Long Trip to the Museum

Fourteen-year-old Leo loves reading about animals from the past. Last month, his science teacher, Mrs. Turner, said the class was going on a trip to the National Natural History Museum. Leo was extremely excited. However, the museum was in another city, and he had to wake up at six o’clock to catch the school bus.

The journey took almost four hours because there was a lot of traffic on the road. Many of Leo’s classmates spent the time playing video games on their phones or singing loudly. Leo didn’t do those things. He decided to look out of the window and read a comic about space. The bus seats were quite hard, so he didn’t sleep at all.

When they finally arrived, the students walked into the museum. The first thing Leo saw was a huge dinosaur skeleton. It was bigger than a house! They also watched a short film about sea animals. Before they left, Leo went to the museum shop. He didn’t have enough money for a t-shirt, so he bought a small plastic shark instead.

On the way back to school, the bus was very quiet. Most of the students were tired and slept for the whole journey. Leo felt really tired too, but he smiled all the way home. He thought the trip was fantastic, and he is already asking his parents to take him there again next summer.
