A Summer at the Motel

Sam is fifteen years old and he knows exactly what he wants to do in the future. While his classmates want to be doctors or pilots, Sam wants to be a hotel manager. To learn more about the business, he decided to spend his summer holidays helping at his uncle’s motel near a beautiful lake.

At first, the job was quite difficult. Sam had to wake up at six o’clock every morning. While his friends were sleeping, he was already busy preparing breakfast for the guests. Later in the day, he answered the phone, cleaned the tables, and gave the room keys to new visitors. He quickly learned that smiling is a very important part of the job.

One busy weekend in August, the motel was completely full. A family arrived very late at night, and they were tired and hungry. There was a problem because their room didn’t have any hot water. Sam didn’t panic. He moved them to a bigger, better room and brought them some sandwiches. The family was extremely happy.
