The Teenager Helping Kids Keep Their Cash

Sixteen-year-old Sam started his first part-time job in a cafe last summer. At first, he was very happy to earn his own money. However, he soon had a big problem. He spent all his cash quickly on new clothes and fast food. He noticed that his friends did exactly the same thing. They just didn’t know how to save their money.

Sam wanted to change this, so he decided to create a budget planner for mobile phones. He spent his evenings watching online videos to learn how to build apps. It was quite difficult. His older sister helped him to understand some difficult math, but Sam did all the computer work himself.

After two months, Sam finished his app and called it “TeenWallet”. Most money apps are for adults and have too much difficult information. Sam’s app was different because it only had simple tools for teenagers. When he showed it to his classmates, they loved it. They started using it every day to check what they bought.
